Conventional degree course in Law The course programme in Law is the standard degree among the legal programmes of the HSG. It begins with the BLaw, which conveys solid basic knowledge, and continues with the MLaw, which provides a more in-depth education and allows specialisation in certain areas. Broad legal education The course programme in Law offers you a comprehensive legal education and opens the door to the entire diversity of career perspectives for the graduates. It equips you with the key knowledge and skills in core legal areas. This includes private law, public law, criminal law, procedural law and international law. Special attention is given to national and international business law. The basic legal subjects also play an important role: Legal history and the philosophy of law expand and deepen your understanding of law and its context. Diverse career perspectives A degree in Law gives you access to diverse career perspectives. Upon graduation, many HSG jurists complete a legal internship and obtain the certificate of admission to the bar. The work in a large or small law firm presents exciting legal challenges. Others work as legal consultants in companies or as judges or prosecutors in courts. Attractive opportunities also exist in the field of diplomacy, international organisations and public administration. A degree in law often also represents the starting point for specialised and executive functions that require both legal skills and leadership responsibility.
